I'm Rob Pitt
I design and build systems that reduce complexity.
I turn messy problems into systems teams can ship and people can understand.

how I work
I work well in ambiguity.
I clarify the problem, align the team, and define what “good” looks like before design begins.
I simplify complex systems.
I map what’s happening, find the friction, and reduce it to something teams can actually build and ship.
I make intentional trade-offs.
I cut what does not matter so the parts that do can ship on time and at a high level of quality.
I think upstream and downstream.
I design the change and the consequences of the change so the system still works after the launch deck is gone.
I iterate toward clarity.
I test small, learn quickly, and move the work forward without overbuilding or pretending certainty too early.
I design for stability.
My goal is fewer surprises, calmer processes, and products that behave the way people expect.
